Abstract Submission Guidelines

The Joint Education Workshop APTH-ISTH 2027 welcomes the submission of original scientific abstracts related to thrombosis and haemostasis.

Abstracts may be selected for Oral Presentation or Electronic Poster Presentation following independent peer review by the Scientific Committee.

Important Dates

•  Abstract Submission is now open

•  Abstract Submission Deadline: November 1st

•  Notification to Authors: December 5th

•  Presenter Registration Deadline: December 11th

•  Deadline to send poster or oral communication: January 15th

General Information

• Abstract submission must be completed exclusively through the official APTH website.
• Abstracts submitted by email or through any other method will not be accepted.
• Submission of an abstract does not automatically imply registration for the workshop.
• Registration of the presenting author will only be mandatory after acceptance of the abstract.
• All abstracts must be submitted in English.
• Submitted abstracts must contain original material not previously published or presented.
• Abstracts must not contain information identifying patients, institutions, or hospitals.
• The submitted version will be considered final and will not undergo editorial revision by the Scientific Committee.
• All authors must disclose potential conflicts of interest.

Abstract Preparation

• All submission form fields are mandatory.
• The submitting/presenting author must provide a valid email address for official correspondence.
• All authors and institutional affiliations must be identified.
• The abstract title should be concise and written in uppercase letters.
• Maximum abstract length: 350 words.
• Up to 1–2 tables or 1–2 images may be included.
• Abbreviations should be defined at first mention.

Research Studies and Case Series

Abstracts should be structured as:

•  Results
•  Discussion
•  Conclusion

Submission Process

•  Abstract submission will remain open until November 1st, 23:59 (Portugal time).
•  Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
•  Authors may update or resubmit abstracts until the submission deadline, provided that each version is clearly identified (V1, V2, etc.).

Review and Presentation Formats

All abstracts will undergo independent and anonymous peer review by the Scientific Committee.

Accepted abstracts may be selected for:
•  Oral Presentation
•  Electronic Poster Presentation

The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine the final presentation format.

Acceptance or rejection notifications will be sent by email to the submitting author. 

Copyright and Publication

By submitting an abstract, authors authorize APTH to publish and distribute the submitted material, including abstracts, electronic posters, and oral presentation slides, in physical, electronic, or other formats related to the workshop.

Presentation Templates & Workshop Branding

Official workshop templates and branding materials will be sent to all authors on confirmation and must be used for oral presentations and electronic posters presented during the Joint Education Workshop APTH-ISTH 2027.

The use of the official workshop visual identity is encouraged in order to promote consistency and a unified scientific image throughout the meeting.

•  APTH and ISTH logos
•  Oral presentation PowerPoint template
•  Electronic poster template
•  Workshop visual identity elements and graphic materials
